How to create and publish a lesson manually

A lesson belongs to one saved course and one module. Build the learning material first, then attach practice and preview the learner view.

Step 1. Open the target course

Click Courses and open the course card that should contain the new lesson.

Step 2. Open the course structure

Click Lessons on the course. Use Edit course only for course-level settings such as access, price, or certificate rules.

Step 3. Choose a module

Expand the module that should contain the lesson. If none exists, click Create module, enter a learner-facing title, decide whether the module is free, and save it before creating the lesson.

Step 4. Choose manual creation

Click Create lesson on the target module and choose Create manually. The video option starts an AI transcription workflow instead.

Step 5. Complete the lesson foundation

Upload an optional square cover. Enter a specific Lesson title and a short description that states the result. Confirm the Module. Choose or type a Lesson topic; a new topic becomes a reusable dictionary value for that subject. Select Recorded for self-paced materials or Live for a scheduled call. A course-exam lesson is configured only when the assignment should contribute a separate exam weight.

Step 6. Add recorded learning materials

For a recorded lesson you can upload a video, attach a PDF presentation, write an article in the main text field, or combine all three. The video picker accepts supported video files; the presentation picker accepts PDF. Use only material you are entitled to share and verify playback after saving.

Step 7. Write and format the lesson article

Use headings for structure, lists for actions, links for referenced resources, and images only where they help learning. The source-code control is for reviewing HTML, not for executable scripts. Keep essential instructions in text even when the video explains them.

Step 8. Insert mathematical notation

Place the cursor where the formula belongs and click ƒ. Enter LaTeX or use the visual controls, check the preview, and insert it.

Step 9. Insert a chemical structure

Place the cursor and click Rx. Build the structure, check atoms and bonds, then insert the rendered result.

Step 10. Attach or generate homework

Choose Add exercise set to attach a reviewed reusable set. To generate practice, first save enough foundation content, then choose dynamic volume or exact A–D difficulty counts and click Generate exercises. Generation is asynchronous; watch the header task menu and AI tasks, and review every answer and criterion before assigning it.

Step 11. Save, preview, and publish

Click Save to continue editing or Save and exit to return to the structure. Confirm the lesson is in the correct module, open Preview, test media and links, and check homework as a learner before making the course available.
