Critical thinking is both the end goal and the foundation of education. It is by questioning what was once considered
unchallenged that humanity advances. Only by rigorously
examining even seemingly
absurd ideas can you make meaningful discoveries.
The purpose of learning is to use knowledge for good. Any knowledge is worthless if it's not used to create value for others. In this case, the person with the knowledge bears a responsibility to use it for the betterment of society and not for destruction.
Free will determines whether an individual can follow their passions. Will they choose a path they're truly interested in and a career they'll be happy in, or will they be swayed by external forces? Without free will, a person cannot reach their full potential.
