Events

The event wizard saves a draft as you move through it. Complete steps in order because later program and certificate settings depend on the basics.

Step 1. Start from My events

Click Events, switch to My events, and click the create action. Use a separate event for a distinct schedule or participant cohort.

Step 2. Enter public basics

Choose Hackathon for an intensive build, Case championship for solving and judging a case, Olympiad for subject competition, Competition for another judged format, Conference for a multi-session knowledge program, Meetup for a community gathering, Workshop for hands-on guided practice, or Other and enter a concise custom type. Then add a clear title and description. Set start and end in the displayed time zone; end must be after start. The public copy should explain audience, outcome, format, and prerequisites without private access data.

Step 3. Configure registration and access

Set registration opening/closing dates inside a sensible period and confirm time zone. Choose the displayed access rules, capacity, and visibility. Closed registration blocks new applications but does not itself cancel accepted participants.

Step 4. Choose the participation format

For online participation provide the managed or approved joining setup; for offline participation provide a complete venue and arrival instructions. Configure capacity and any attendance requirements. Do not publish a private host link in the description.

Step 5. Build the program

Add program items in chronological order. Give each session a title, start/end time, speaker or mentor, and participant instructions. Check overlaps and leave realistic breaks.

Step 6. Configure recruitment

Choose whether applications are needed, what information participants provide, and how statuses are managed. Ask only for data required to run the event and explain selection criteria.

Step 7. Set mentor rules

If mentors participate, define availability, assignments, and responsibilities. Leave mentor features unused when the event has no mentoring component.

Step 8. Configure event certificates

Enable certificates only when eligibility is defined. Choose or upload the event template, place supported fields, preview sample data, and decide when certificates are issued. Event certificates are separate from the school course-certificate template.

Step 9. Review and publish

Use the final management step to reread dates, access, program, recruitment, mentors, and certificates. Save as draft for internal checking or publish when the public page, registration, and operational details are ready.
